Yep…it’s
another gorgeous day here at Morro Bay! We started the day pretty early and
headed up the hill to the store for a few items. Next, since the day was so
warm and beautiful, we decided to take a walk over to the Rock.

Watching the Surfer's |
We
sat on a bench when we got there and just watched the surfers for about an hour. There
were also a few SUP boarders out there, which got us wanting to get on our SUP
boards and paddle around one of these days. But that will take some digging into the V-berth to find my
inflatable board. Rick’s is already on a kayak rack on the side of the boat,
which is easy to get to.
Tonight
we were going to spend time with Rick’s daughter and go to the Farmer’s Market
in Downtown SLO, but it looks like it may not happen this visit.

Last
night we had a fun evening with the people we’ve been meeting here at the YC.
They all left today to round Point Conception and to dock in Santa Barbara
tomorrow. It’s another overnighter and will be about a 20-hour passage. We were
very tempted to leave with them today since the weather is taking a turn for
the worst within a few days. And you only want to pass Point Conception at the very
best conditions possible. Even then it’s a hairy crossing (so we’ve heard). But
we have decided to leave tomorrow instead of in a few days as previously
planned. We really want to beat the upcoming weather also. We either leave
tomorrow or leave next Sunday.
So,
we plan to leave bright and early tomorrow and head to Avila Beach where we will stay
one night. Then the following day we will set sail for Cojo, which is just beyond
Point Conception. We will anchor there for a night and leave early for Santa
Barbara on Sunday.
You’ll
be hearing from us again probably in Santa Barbara.
Thank
you to all the followers! xoxo, Rick and Maryalice
